One of the easiest DIY projects is homemade laundry detergent. Take the first step in detoxing your laundry room by making your own detergent. No-FUSS Healthy Living’s Lavender laundry detergent uses gentle ingredients like essential oils, washing soda, baking soda, and Castile soap. When you are not willing or can’t shell out the hefty price for all-natural laundry detergents, make your own.
No-FUSS Healthy Living’s laundry soap is versatile. You can change the scent of the laundry detergent simply by replacing the lavender essential oil for your favorite scent or blend of essential oils. I use Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap bar which is available in lavender, rose, peppermint, almond, tea tree, eucalyptus, and citrus.

Conventional laundry detergents contain “chemicals with negative health effects ranging from skin and throat irritation to carcinogenicity.” The next time you get ready to hoist a jug of name brand laundry detergent into your cart, quickly Google the ingredients. Most likely you won’t find them listed on the side of the container. The Environmental Protection Agency does not require manufacturers of laundry detergent to reveal the ingredients on the product container.
